Elodie DOURONE
In 2012, the Dourone duo began expanding their artistic practice internationally through large-scale mural projects, developing a visual language that combines figurative painting, symbolism and reflections on contemporary human life. Since then, they have created more than 110 murals across 24 countries and 67 cities, working in a wide range of cultural and urban contexts.
Their murals have become an important part of their artistic practice, allowing them to bring their work into public space and engage directly with different communities, environments and social realities.
This international trajectory has contributed to the evolution of Dourone’s visual language, while establishing a practice that moves between the studio, the gallery and the public realm.

LE MONDE DE DEMAIN
ABIDJAN, IVORY COAST
The mural entitled "The world of tomorrow" now culminates at a height of 64 meters high, which makes it the highest mural in all of West Africa ever painted.
This open-air performance was made in just 10 days, entirely with a brush and has 63 colors.
“The world of tomorrow” is a representation of a young, dynamic and constantly evolving Africa where the present and the future are juxtaposed and the future is, through a portrait of a young girl, a bearer of strength and determination.

THE BUILDING THAT DREAMED OF TAKING ROOT
VARBERG, SWEDEN
This artwork, integrated into the architecture of the campus building, embodies a profound duality: the historical and the contemporary, the natural and the constructed, the present and the future.
Surrounded by stylized and vivid trees, the composition evokes a symbolic forest, a timeless space of growth, transformation, and introspection. These organic forms envelop the modern, rigid structure, suggesting a harmonious coexistence between nature and the built environment (the future). The missing pieces of the trees mark transitions, reinforcing the idea of the time that remains before we reach our new future.
At the heart of the image lies a philosophical message. As part of a place where critical thinking is fundamental, the work , like all our creations, invites reflection on the duality of life and our connection to the world as individuals. It acknowledges that while each person is shaped by the structures around them, whether nature, history, or education, they also possess the capacity for awareness and change, essential to building a better future.

LE VOYAGE
LILLE, FRANCE
This artwork was entirely hand-painted, with a keen focus on detail and artistic expression that defines our work. Four days of intensive work were required to bring this creation to life.
'El Viaje' is much more than just a piece of art. It's an invitation to escape, a gateway to imaginary worlds and uncharted horizons. Every brushstroke, every shade of color, every meticulous detail tells a story. This artwork embodies the power of art to transcend borders, expand minds, and move hearts.
